Red Priest

Dear All

Piers here again ... with a brief follow up to last week's newsletter, to say a huge thanks to everyone who purchased or downloaded my new CD Bach Side of the Moon - copies have been flying out of the office for the last few days.  I hope you are enjoying and chilling out to this new take on some of my favourite baroque adagios.

Any of you living within reach of Sussex, UK, may be interested in two events taking place next week.  On Tuesday 16th I will be giving a talk in Burgess Hill entitled 'The Dangerous Musician', looking at the myriad ways music and musicians have been a powerful force in society - and sometimes, a danger to those who wish to rule and control us... The talk will be followed by the unofficial launch of Bach Side of the Moon, in which Larry Lush and I will perform tracks from the album live, with evocative video backdrops.

And two days later, on Thursday 18th, I will be performing a programme of 'modernised' baroque music (including brand new transcriptions of Bach's first Cello Suite and Vivaldi's Concerto in A minor) with pianist Howard Beach, in my hometown of Lewes - part of the fabulous new Lewes Baroquefest (click for details).   Ex-Red Priest violinist (and festival co-director) Julia Bishop will be performing a solo programme in the same festival on Friday 19th.

That's all for now - I hope to see some of you there!

Warm wishes

Piers
