Meet the World's Most Extraordinary Baroque Quartet!

Red Priest is the only early music group in the world to have been compared in the press to the Rolling Stones, Jackson Pollock, the Marx Brothers, Spike Jones and the Cirque du Soleil. This extraordinary acoustic foursome has been described by music critics as ‘visionary and heretical’, ‘outrageous yet compulsive’, ‘wholly irreverent and highly enlightened’, ‘completely wild and deeply imaginative’, with a ‘red-hot wicked sense of humour’ and a ‘break-all-rules, rock-chamber concert approach to early music’.... read on

"For sheer technical wizardry, charismatic showmanship and expressive devilment, Red Priest is in a exhilarating class of it’s own."

What happened to all the handy links to the tour venues you used to have on your website? First saw you at the Norfolk and Norwich Festival eons ago, you haven't been back since. Sad for us! I hope to try and catch your awesome-ness at Diss or Framingham.

So very sad to hear you've canceled your US Tour - was it something we said? Or someone some of us voted for?? Red Priest replies: Neither - just simple economics I'm afraid. With the costs of travelling such a long way, a tour to the US almost always requires at least two dates to make it viable, and on this occasion we were unable to secure a second show. It is something which unfortunately happens from time to time for many bands travelling from Europe, and we are very sorry to let Oregon down... but we'll be back for sure before long!

Well, I don't know which gig Nick was at last night in King's Place... I saw a virtuosic and inspiring performance. And who knew such things could be done with a recorder? Loved it.

Feeble concert tonight at King's Place from an apparently venerable novelty act, though judging by the number of smug titters from the generally elderly audience, my reaction wasn't typical. Perhaps the second half was better -- I escaped at the first opportunity.
